In July last year, VetComp proudly sponsored the RA Sigs Spartans Rugby Club as they took on the British Army’s R Sigs in a landmark international tour.
Running from 30 June to 10 July, the tour marked the RA Sigs centenary and brought together serving personnel, veterans, and emergency services members for a series of fixtures across Queensland, NSW and the ACT. It was rugby with real purpose of mateship, service, and shared history on display.
At VetComp, we don’t just write cheques. We get behind events that bring the veteran community together. Sponsoring the Spartans was about backing something bigger than a game. It was about honouring a century of service, connecting veterans across continents, and showing that we’re here on the sideline, in the community, and ready to help.
We were proud to be part of it.

The Spartans Veterans Rugby Club is a registered sports charity and community built for veterans, by veterans. Uniting serving and former members of the Australian Defence Force, alongside their allied brothers and sisters. The Spartans use rugby as a vehicle for wellbeing, inclusion, and camaraderie.
Guided by the values of courage, respect, integrity, and teamwork, the Spartans provide a strong, inclusive community where veterans can stay connected, rediscover purpose, and support one another beyond service life. Through the sport, they promote physical and mental health while fostering pride, mate-ship, and belonging, with a bit of healthy competition along the way.
