Why do we share this information?
We share this information to promote transparency and accountability, and to help you better understand how we operate and the outcomes we have achieved. It is provided for general informational purposes only and is not intended to predict, guarantee, or indicate the result you may receive, and should not be interpreted as such.
Our Dataset
Dataset means the cohort of the most recent 150 client matters in which clients engaged VetComp to provide advocacy and administrative assistance in relation to claims submitted to the Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA), and for which determinations had been issued by DVA as at Q1 2026. The Dataset was calculated in Q1 2026 and is based on the 150 most recent DVA determinations available at that time. Each matter is treated as a single data point for the purpose of calculating averages, percentages, and other reported metrics. Matters in which no compensation, eligibility, conditions, or Permanent Impairment (PI) points were awarded are included in the Dataset and recorded as $0 or 0 (as applicable).

All decisions regarding compensation, benefits, entitlements, liability, Permanent Impairment assessments, or Gold Card eligibility are made solely by DVA in accordance with applicable legislation and policy. VetComp has no authority over, and cannot influence, DVA’s assessment, determination, or decision-making processes. The outcome of any claim is dependent entirely upon DVA’s independent evaluation of the individual circumstances of each case.

Any information provided by VetComp is general in nature and is not intended to constitute, and should not be relied upon as, professional advice. Clients should obtain independent advice from appropriately qualified professionals, including legal practitioners, medical practitioners, or financial advisers, in relation to their specific circumstances, particularly where matters involve legal rights, medical diagnoses or treatment, financial planning, or taxation consequences.
Definitions
(‘Average Payout’) means the arithmetic mean of total compensation amounts awarded by the Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA) in respect of clients included in the Dataset. It is calculated by aggregating the total compensation awarded across all 150 matters within the Dataset and dividing that total by 150. “Total compensation” comprises amounts (if any) awarded under the Military Rehabilitation and Compensation Act 2004 (MRCA), including Permanent Impairment (PI) lump sum compensation, Severely Impaired Payment (SIP), and arrears. Matters in which no compensation was awarded are recorded as $0. All amounts are expressed in Australian Dollars (AUD).
(‘Gold Card Success Rate’) means the percentage of clients included in the Dataset who were granted eligibility for a DVA Gold Card. It is calculated by dividing the number of matters within the Dataset in which Gold Card eligibility was granted by 150 and expressing the result as a percentage. Matters in which Gold Card eligibility was not granted are included in the calculation.
(‘Average Number of Approved Conditions’) means the arithmetic mean number of medical conditions accepted for Initial Liability by DVA in respect of clients included in the Dataset. It is calculated by aggregating the total number of conditions accepted across all 150 matters within the Dataset and dividing that total by 150. Matters in which no conditions were accepted are recorded as 0.
(‘Average PI Points’) means the arithmetic mean of Permanent Impairment (PI) points assessed by DVA in respect of clients included in the Dataset. It is calculated by aggregating the total PI points assessed across all 150 matters within the Dataset and dividing that total by 150. Matters in which no PI points were assessed are recorded as 0.
(‘Dataset’) means the cohort of the most recent 150 client matters in which clients engaged VetComp to provide advocacy and administrative assistance in relation to claims submitted to DVA, and for which determinations had been issued by DVA as at Q1 2026. The Dataset was calculated in Q1 2026 and is based on the 150 most recent DVA determinations available at that time. Each matter is treated as a single data point for the purpose of calculating averages, percentages, and other reported metrics.
